December 4, 2014 (Lake George, NY) The FUND for Lake George invites the public to experience its newly installed Jefferson Project visualization facility at The Center for Lake George on Tuesday, December 9th, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. Enjoy light refreshments during this Open House holiday event that includes ongoing demonstrations highlighting state-of-the-art understanding of Lake health.

The visualization technology at The FUND’s Center for Lake George equips diverse public interests with an unprecedented view to Lake science and gives fresh meaning to the term “seeing is believing.”  3-D models of Lake George circulation, weather, and stormwater runoff, as well as a breathtaking “fly-through” of the world's most advanced underwater survey will be shown on The FUND’s new large format monitor. Executive Director Eric Siy explains that, “The world-leading capacity of The Jefferson Project will provide unparalleled understanding of Lake George, from ‘physics to fish.’ This understanding will be harnessed to inform and empower decision making that secures lasting protection of Lake George.”

“We are grateful to IBM, our Jefferson Project partner along with Rensselaer, for providing the high-powered server that will bring The FUND's science-guided work to protect Lake George to a new level of communications and educational effectiveness,” said Jeff Killeen, The FUND's Board Chairman and the lead contributor to creating The Center for Lake George.

Join us for an enjoyable and informative evening of ground-breaking progress toward sustained Lake protection. The Center for Lake George is located behind The Fund’s office building at 2199 State Route 9, Lake George, NY. For more information, and to RSVP online, visit

The FUND for Lake George is a privately funded not-for-profit organization dedicated to the protection of Lake George. Formed in 1980, The FUND applies a science-based approach to protection focused on Lake George water quality and the overall health of the Lake George watershed. The FUND pursues this mission through support of long-term scientific research, direct advocacy, and strategic partnerships with diverse public and private interests. Mounting threats to the water quality and natural character of Lake George, as revealed by latest research, compelled The FUND to launch its Legacy Strategy in 2013, with one driving goal: stopping the present decline of water quality and achieving sustained protection of Lake George for the next generation. The Legacy Strategy embraces environmental and economic imperatives as required to fulfill this goal. The FUND sponsors the Lake George Waterkeeper among other programs on Lake George.
