After three years of discussion, revision and debate, the Town Board has finally passed a law governing septic systems near lakes and rivers.

Chris Navitsky, the Lake George Waterkeeper, asked the board to require all septic systems to be inspected during a sale.
“It should apply to systems outside the waterfront residential,” he said.
