The village of Lake George and the S.A.V.E. Lake George Partnership have donated $20,000 in proceeds raised by last year’s Festival for the Lake event to the Lake George Park Commission, to be used for law enforcement patrols on the lake.

The festival, held in September, raised funds and awareness for the fight against invasive species in Lake George, and to support the mandatory boat inspection program being run by the park commission.

The state budget cut funds for the boat patrol by $20,000 for 2014, which is why the festival proceeds were dedicated to that, according to Lake George Mayor Robert Blais.

Next year’s festival, is slated for Sept. 19 to 21 at the new Charles R. Wood Park festival space being developed on the old Gaslight Village property.
