FUND for LG Studying Smelt

When the water temperature of Lake George’s tributary streams hits roughly 42°F, rainbow smelt begin migrating to them in their annual spring spawning ritual. The FUND for Lake George will be heavilymonitoring that spawn this spring.

FUND biologist and Water Quality Outreach Coordinator Corrina Parnapy has been reaching out to sportsmen’s groups and others with an interest in smelt populations, lining up volunteers to help with the program, which is part of the multi-million dollar three-year Jefferson Project started last year…
