Jeff Killeen

Board Chair

Jeff and his family have a long and personal connection to Lake George.  He is a 4th generation ‘Lake George’er;’ his great-great uncle built the original Killeen family camp – ‘Ma-ha-Qua’ – on Diamond Point in 1908.  In 2006, Jeff restored Ma-ha-Qua and it is now his family home.  Jeff joined The FUND in 2005, and currently serves as Chairman of its Trustee Board. 


Jeff’s professional career spans 30 years in the media, information technology and internet industries.  Most recently, he was Chairman & CEO of GlobalSpec in Albany.  He led GlobalSpec from startup to recognition as the leading provider of digital content to the global engineering marketplace.  Prior to GlobalSpec, Jeff was founding CEO of both Forbes.com and Pacific Bell Interactive Media.  He also led the formation of barnesandnoble.com, growing that company to become the world’s 3rd largest e-commerce business at the time.  Previously, he was President of American Insurance services Group in New York, and he began his career at The Dun & Bradstreet Corporation, with his final post there being Senior Vice President of Telco Operations for Reuben H. Donnelley.

Jeff has won professional awards from both Crains and Folio magazines as “Top B2B CEO” and “Most Visionary CEO,” numerous recognitions as a “Top 50 Digital Industry Leader” and for GlobalSpec being a “Best Place to Work Company.”  He is a frequent keynote speaker and guest columnist in the information services industry.

In addition to serving as the Chairman of The FUND, Jeff is the immediate past Chairman of the Center for Disability Services in Albany.  Jeff has previously served on 3 public company and 3 private company boards of directors.  He is a graduate of St. Lawrence University with a degree in Government & Political Science.
